In addition to Michael Rooker as Yondu and Karen Gillan as Nebula you can now also include Benicio del Toro as Taneleer Tivan, aka The Collector to the list of supporting actors returning to reprise their roles in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Fellow cast member, Zoe Saldana, announced the del Toro's return to the role when in a video praising the actor's performance in Sicario posted on her husband's Facebook page, she let it slip that she would be seeing him on Guardians.
The Collector's role in the MCU is still unknown, but the intriguing thing about him is that he's not particularly interested in who wins what, or which side comes out victorious per say. In fact when he foresaw that one day a being of great power would try to destroy all life in the universe, his first and only reaction was to collect living beings and artifacts from across the universe and place them in safekeeping so he could repopulate the universe and bestow upon them the knowledge he had acquired, and not to use his great power to try and stop such a thing from ever happening, or in good comic fashion, gather a team to confront the menace.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 starts shooting in Atlanta in February for a May 5, 2017 release.
