I added some fall touches to the terrarium in our den. This style of terrarium is known as a Wardian Case, and you can read what I wrote about them Here. I haven't tried real plants in mine, because I don't think they would survive; this corner of the den gets almost no sunlight. I just substitute other things for live plants -- do I know how to have fun, or what? :-D
I'm still working to learn the DSLR camera. My husband says our den is a real pill to photograph in, and I would have to agree. It's very cozy just to hang out here with the soft lamplight, but there's not enough light to take really good pictures. I think we need to consider track lighting for this room -- over the fireplace and in this corner would make a world of difference.
As you can see, the left side is in shadow here, and the right side has bright light from the lamp. However, I think you can still get the general idea here. A teacup and saucer from my Johnson Brothers "His Majesty" dishes, a faux deer antler, some leaves dried in glycerin, and faux acorns. I like the way it turned out. Happy Fall Y'all! :)
